TLDR; The conference ended with above-expected participation, attendance, registration and a distinctly regional vibe.
Perhaps a few who have attended conferences overseas said it best:
“I have attended SHRM/CIPD conferences around the world and the quality of this content was on the same level, but the vibe and focus was distinctly Caribbean, which made it special.”
The CaribHRForum Virtual Conference concluded on September 19th 2020. After three days of discussions, conversations and networking most of the 1350+ who registered agreed that the event met or exceeded their expectations (45.1%, 46.3%), would attendance the conference again (95%) and recommend it to another HR professional (9.4%).
The conference featured 75 speakers/presenters/panelist offering some 73 hours of content in the form of pre-recorded session, live speeches, live Q&A’s, a Yoga session plus other networking sessions. Given the fact that it was the first cross-regional event in the HR space at this scale, there were many opportunities to use virtual tools to accomplish the key objectives of the event: to help HR professionals learn, share and connect. These tools includes three technology platforms: a custom WordPress website, a live Remo Conferencing platform and our own CaribHRForum Community.

There were also a number of events conducted before and after the event.
Four build-up and networking events were held in the weeks leading up to the conference, all held virtually using the Remo Conference platform. The intent was to familiarize the attendees and presenters with the technology being used in a fun way and this helped everyone onboard quickly when the event began.
After the conference, we held a Cool Down event to help everyone close out their experience and begin to think about their next steps here at CaribHRForum.
While we all await the dates of next year’s event, most are already looking forward to building on what they learned and the folks they met across the region. They have all combined to fulfill the theme: A Bigger You. Better You.
